Course Introduction |
The course introduces the fundamental principle of the crystal chemistry and the main topics include the following: The symmetry in the construction of molecular and two-dimensional three-dimensional crystalline materials The expressions of point groups and classification of space groups Construction of crystal structure models The principles of X-ray powder diffraction and single crystal diffraction, experimental manipulation and analysis of spectra Analysis of single crystal structures, software and practical work |
Objective |
By taking this course, students will know about the fundamental principle of crystal chemistry, possess the abilities for correct experimental manipulation and analysis of spectra. The course will establish the foundation to further study following course in materials science. |
